I love to cook, and read cookbooks, which you can tell if you see me in town or kids events because there is always a stack of cookbooks piled up in on the passenger’s seat in my car to get inspiration. When I went to culinary school I learned that while many recipes are pure inspiration, most are variations and tweaks of ‘classics’, even ‘modern classics’. I love to make my own variations, but some are just straight out of a cookbook - and I’ll always let you know so you can cook it too, if you want! When I cook a new recipe and it is a hit with my family, my first thoughts are always who shall I invite to share the recipe with…… Now by starting Lekker by Season, I can share it with all of you!
Now I would like to share my recipes with you and let you take off the daily cooking for one day (or more!). I am starting a cool-meal delivery business, called Lekker by Season. Take out dinners and add-ons for the week that hopefully can make your life a bit easier or give you one day of not thinking ‘what’s for dinner’.
My cooking inspiration comes from several sources. First, you’ll find that all of my meals are healthy, with a ‘veg first’ approach. Some are fully vegetarian but always satisfying. I am personally a ‘pescatarian’ (fish, eggs, dairy are all ok) but I cook for many diets and preferences. Second, I like to bring some of my Dutch ‘roots’ into my cooking and you might see some of the flavors or recipes of the Netherlands and Indonesia (which is an important cuisine in the Netherlands) on a regular basis. Lastly, I like to make food designed to please a family, so not too spicy, not too salty - you can always ask for more ‘heat’ on the side!
